Why?

Because I’m tired of this thing eating batteries when it sits for months between uses.

Parts Needed

Tools Needed

  • Hot glue gun
  • Dremel rotary tool or hand file
  • Screwdriver
  • Soldering iron

Solution

  1. I watched this Youtube video to change the power output of the PD trigger to 9V: https://youtu.be/jt6tO4P9r_I
  2. I unscrewed the top shell from the inner housing.
  3. I cut a divot in the inner housing to make room for the USB-C PD trigger board.
  4. I cut a divot in the top shell to make room for the USB-C PD trigger board.
  5. I hot-glued the USB-C PD trigger board in place and soldered the wires between the USB-C PD trigger board and the DC barrel connector.
